Agricultural Communicators Network Stories of the Year

Going Strong at 102 won the Agricultural Communicators Network Story of the Year in 2018. It profiled Loyd Ratts, a 102-year-old Kansas farmer who still actively managed his farm.

Mother Nature Rules won the Agricultural Communicators Network Story of the Year in 2020. It profiled Seth Watkins, a Clarinda, Iowa, farmer, who farms differently that most and is successful in doing so.

International Federation of Agricultural Journalists (IFAJ) Winners

Two recent stories by Gil Gullickson have won international honors.

How to Weatherproof  Your Farm (Sort of) won the International Federation of Agricultural Journalists/Food and Agriculture Organization Award for Food Security in 2017. This story was about how farmers could manage their farms to roll with the punches of climate change.

Yours, Mine, and Ours won the IFAJ AgTech Reporting Award in 2020. This told about how outcome-based pricing could reduce agronomic risk for farmers.
